Hunter Education

MTCC was a strong supporter for the establishment of the Indiana Hunter Education Program. MTCC had several of the first certified instructors and held some of the earliest Indiana Hunter Education Classes. Since 1975 MTCC has held at least 2 classes per year, 1 in the spring and 1 in the fall. MTCC has provided these classes free of charge for more than 1000 students.

Spring Class: 2024 Dates TBA
Fall Class: 2024 Dates TBA

4-H Events

In 1983 MTCC started supporting Delaware County 4-H Shooting Sports and has continued to do so to date. MTCC supports all disciplines (now including archery), we supply the instructors, safe ranges, the sporting arms, and all the ammunition for the shooters. The number of 4-H shooters per year has varied over time with a low in the teens and a high of around 65.

Scholarship

In memory of founding member Jack Cronin, the Monroe Township Conservation Club established a scholarship fund for high school students and students already enrolled in college.  Jack Cronin believed in continuing education, safety and courtesy in the use of firearms, and conservation efforts for the wise use of natural resources.  It is in his honor that we offer this scholarship to someone with similar beliefs and ideas.  If an applicant did not receive this scholarship last year, they are encouraged to submit an application for the current scholarship.

Applications must be returned to the Monroe Township Conservation Club by March 31st
